This Privacy Policy explains how Afucent collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the Adhaan (Adhan Salah Times) mobile app and related services, in line with Google Play's User Data and Data Safety requirements.

Introduction

Afucent built the Adhaan app (also known as Adhan Salah Times). This Service is provided by Afucent and is intended for use as is.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The personal information that we collect is used for providing, operating, securing, and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide certain personally identifiable information, and we also collect some data automatically. Below are the main categories of data we collect and how we use them.

1. Location Data (Precise and Approximate)

Data collected: GPS-based precise location (latitude/longitude) and approximate location (e.g., based on network or coarse signals).

How we use this data:

  • To calculate accurate Adhan (prayer) timings for your current location.
  • To determine the Qibla direction on the compass/map.
  • To show nearby mosques on a map.
  • To determine Qasr eligibility by comparing your manually saved home/base location to your current GPS location when you travel.
  • To support alarm and notification features, including when the app is running in the background, as needed to trigger timely Adhan notifications and related silent mode behaviors, depending on your device settings and permissions.

You can control location permissions through your device settings. If you deny or revoke location permissions, some features (such as location-based prayer times, Qibla compass, and nearby mosques) may not function correctly.

2. Personal and Authentication Data

Data collected: Name, Email address, and authentication user IDs (such as Firebase Authentication UIDs and Google Sign-In identifiers).

How we collect it: When you create an account or sign in using Google Sign-In (OAuth) and Firebase Authentication.

How we use this data: To create and manage your user account, securely authenticate you, associate your preferences and subscriptions with your account, and communicate with you about important account or security-related matters.

3. Financial and Payment Data

Data collected: Payment information and purchase history as processed by Stripe, as well as limited device and transaction-related identifiers used for fraud prevention and security.

How we use this data: To process payments for premium features or subscriptions, manage your purchase history and subscription status, and help prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized transactions.

We do not store your full payment card details on our own servers. Payment details are handled and stored securely by Stripe in accordance with their own privacy and security practices.

4. Device Identifiers and Other IDs

Data collected: Device identifiers, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens, and analytics/security identifiers used by Firebase, Google Play Services, and Stripe where applicable.

How we use this data: To send push notifications and Adhan-related alerts using FCM, ensure notifications are delivered to the correct device, improve app performance and reliability, and enhance security and fraud detection.

5. Audio Files

Data collected: Custom audio files that you optionally upload or configure to use as your personalized Adhan alarm or notification sound.

How we use this data: To allow you to use your chosen audio for Adhan alarms and notifications and to associate these preferences with your account or device so they apply consistently. Uploading custom audio is optional.

Log Data

Whenever you use our Service, in the case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone/device called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics. We use this information solely for diagnostics, security, performance monitoring, and to improve the reliability of the Service.

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.

This Service does not use these "cookies" explicitly. However, the app or related web pages may use third-party code and libraries that use "cookies" to collect information and improve their services (for example, for analytics or payment processing). You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and to know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse cookies, some portions of the Service or website may not function properly.

Service Providers and Third‑Party Services

We may employ third-party companies and individuals for the following reasons:

  • To provide the Service on our behalf
  • To perform Service-related services
  • To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used
  • To provide authentication, notifications, and core app infrastructure

  • Google Play Services
  • Google Sign‑In / Google OAuth
  • Firebase Authentication
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
  • Stripe (for payments and fraud prevention)

Security

We value your trust in providing us your personal information, thus we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. This includes using secure communication channels where appropriate and implementing technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain your data only for as long as it is necessary to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

You have the right to request deletion of your account and associated data:

  • In‑app account deletion: You can delete your account directly inside the app by navigating to Settings → Manage Profile → tap the menu button in the top‑right corner, then choose "Delete Account" and confirm.
  • If you have uninstalled the app or cannot access it: You can request complete account and data deletion without reinstalling the app by visiting https://www.adhansalahtimes.com/delete-account or by sending an email to contacts@adhansalahtimes.com from your registered email address with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".

When we receive a valid deletion request and verify your identity, all data associated with your account (including personal information, Firebase Authentication UIDs, Stripe payment records where applicable, and device identifiers such as FCM tokens and relevant analytics IDs) will be completely wiped from our databases (including Firebase and Stripe, as applicable) within 30 days, except where a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (for example, for financial record‑keeping or legal compliance).

Once your account and data are deleted, they cannot be recovered, and you would need to create a new account to use the Service again.

This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third‑party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third‑party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take the necessary actions.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
